This pack requires some categories contained in the Shared Categories content pack, please make sure to have it installed in your environment before installing this pack.

The VDI Analytics pack will help you ensure this and compare the experience of your VDI users to that of your physical device users. You will also find insights on security, another keystone of virtualization.

Overview dashboard

This dashboard gives an overview of your physical and virtual device landscape.

Device experience dashboard

Compare the end-user experience of your users using physical and virtual devices.

Application experience dashboard

This dashboard presents the experience of your users when using applications from their physical and virtual devices.

You can compare the application crash and freeze ratios and pinpoint the applications causing the most issues.

Infrastructure quality dashboard

Compare your infrastructure quality concerning physical and virtual devices.

Comparing virtual images dashboard

If you are using several golden images to provision your virtual machines, this dashboard can come in handy. Use it to compare the end-user experience depending on the master virtual image and adapt your provisioning based to your company needs.

Virtual device sizing dashboard

Use this dashboard to better balance the sizing of your virtual machines.

Devices are classified as undersized when they have reached the limits of their sizing, whereas those marked as oversized use only a fraction of their potential. By better balancing the sizing depending on the actual device usage, you can improve the experience for your users with undersized devices whilst keeping the overall hardware resources under control.

Security dashboard

VDI can be used to reinforce security. This dashboard gives you a comparison of potential security breaches on your physical and virtual devices.

A device is reported as having antivirus issues or antispyware issues respectively when the antivirus or antispyware is reported as inactive or not up-to-date.

  • To use the Comparing virtual images dashboard, you first should define the image from which your virtual machines were provisioned. To do this edit the virtual image category and add a keyword per golden image. For instance one keyword could be named "Windows 8.1 Germany". Then tag your virtual machines to the keywords you just created. Here is a link to the documentation on how to tag objects with Nexthink.
  • We suggest you to adapt the network response time used in the Infrastructure quality dashboard to measure your most important response time; for instance, the response time when connecting to a critical service in your company. To do this edit the metrics Average network response time on physical devices and Average network response time on virtual devices.
