Description

Manages the different Registry, Services and Scheduled Tasks settings under a Windows 10 environment by using a VMWare OS Optimization Tool template that will have to be created previously by the user. This pack offers two possible actions, viewing information regarding these settings and/or configuring them, as defined in the VMWare OS Optimization Tool template.

Get VMware Optimization Information

Script Description

Verifies that the optimization steps listed in a VMware Optimization XML template are applied on target devices.

Execution context and suggested scheduling

Run the script as 'local system'. The script should be executed manually.

A timeout of 900 seconds is recommended.

Parameters

Label Description
Maximum Delay In Seconds Maximum random delay set to avoid overloading the network. Provide number of seconds less than 600
XML Path UNC Path where the XML Optimization file is located. Example":" \\\\server\\SharedFolder\\my-template.xml"

Outputs

Label Type Description
Non Matching Elements Count Int Indicates how many elements do not match the optimization suggestions provided by the XML
Non Matching Elements Ratio Ratio Percentage of the non-matching elements
Non Matching Elements IDs StringList List of all the non-matching elements' IDs

This script is designed to use a VMware OS Optimization Tool XML template, in which its steps contain an assigned unique ID.
In the case the XML template contains steps without an assigned ID, the output of the script might not be the desired one.

The steps that contain multiple actions, or any other extra node (for example, conditions or custom optimizations) will be taken as non-matching elements for the output

You can obtain different Optimization XML templates by using VMware OS Optimization Tool.

Set VMware Optimization Configuration

Script Description

Sets changes in the windows registry, scheduled tasks and services based on a number of steps which are listed in a VMware Optimization XML template in order to optimize a target device.
