innovative enterprise class software
- Monitors continuously the global utilization and behavior context of all desktops
- Installs and operates "out-of the box" without requiring any scripting or specific instrumentation
- Highly scalable to perform in large and complex enterprise environments
- No performance compromise to collect permanently the full desktop's activity context and run the full spectrum of functionalities.
From standard desktops to virtual and thin-client terminal services environments, NEXThink uses patented and award winning technology to discover and monitor desktops, applications and network connectivity in large and complex enterprise environments to provide a new level of visibility into desktops and applications activity up to the servers accessed and the utilization of the network infrastructure.
The light and transparent NEXThink Collector installs as a driver in the desktop kernel layer, exposing all applications' executions and network connections, without compromising the efficiency of the local and network environment. After a quick roll-out, NEXThink gives IT leaders an ongoing comprehensive view into the enterprise desktop infrastructure. It continually monitors and alerts staff of stressed areas - avoiding problems before they occur. This approach ensures that resources are right-sized, provides for service level assurance, and avoids costly downtime and security issues.
cloud-based knowledge library
NEXThink Library is a central knowledge place enhancing NEXThink value and capabilities with thematic investigations, dashboard templates and a consolidated software reference database for application threat analysis (vulnerability, malware, grayware). Its content is regularly updated and users are kept informed with a bi-weekly newsletter
flexible extensions
You can extend your standard desktop monitoring to gain visibility over thin client and terminal server based applications such as Citrix and Microsoft WTS. A NEXThink Portal extension is available to integrate events from systems event management and compute SLA with true end-user impact. NEXThink comes out-of-the-box with native interfaces with AD/LDAP and a set of integration interfaces and plug-ins to build end-to-end integrated solution with 3rd party product such as PC life cycle management, security event management, endpoint security, ITSM, service desk platforms, ...
how NEXThink works
1) collect it
NEXThink Collector is a lightweight driver and a helper service installed on endpoints, with a very small footprint (200 KB). The Collector deploys silently without reboot. There is no post-install configuration and nothing to manage. It's straightforward and simple. Non-intrusive, and with negligible impact - only 0.1% CPU and 0.1 kbps per machine - our patented collection technology gathers application and network metrics from your client workstations in real-time, giving you a global view of applications used, servers accessed, bandwidth consumed, and service levels delivered.
2) learn it
These metrics populate NEXThink's self-learning analytics engine, furnishing you with a rich repository of historical and real-time infrastructure usage data. As the brains of the platform, NEXThink Engine , built upon patented innovations in artificial intelligence, features an in-memory database for ultra-fast ad-hoc query and reporting, enabling you to search through weeks of information and millions of endpoint activities in mere seconds.
3) find it
NEXThink Finder, built upon powerful visualizations techniques, enables fine-grained analysis of infrastructure usage data stored in the Engine. A simple query can reveal - in seconds, across the entire network - how many versions of a particular application are in use and on which workstations, the bandwidth consumed by the application, the servers that the application accesses, network response times, and which users experienced failed connections, and much more. Custom email alerts can be defined from the NEXThink Finder.
4) report it
NEXThink Portal makes it possible - in a matter of minutes - to build custom dashboards that are valuable both for department managers and more senior executives that need cross-departmental visibility. Custom indicators are a snap to define and can be quickly published and shared as drag-and-drop widgets. Our open, SOA-based platform is fully extensible, so if you need to, you can easily incorporate metrics harvested from existing monitoring and management solutions such as software distribution, server and network monitoring, application related events, and security management.
5) enhance it
NEXThink Library is a central knowledge place enhancing NEXThink value and capabilities with thematic investigations, dashboard templates and a consolidated software reference database for application threat analysis (vulnerability, malware, grayware). You can easily browse and search the NEXThink Library for investigations and dashboard templates matching your needs. Any application binary hash can be automatically submitted to the NEXThink Library application reference database to analyze and alert on potential threats of the applications and binaries discovered on your desktops. The content of the NEXThink Library is regularly updated: you can have a look at the latest additions by checking out the newsletter archive.
6) extend it
You can extend your desktop monitoring to thin clients with the especially designed NEXThink Collector for terminal servers such as Citrix and WTS on any windows server platforms including 64 bits. This extension gives you full visibility per user, per applications on all activities from your terminal servers, including quantitative and qualitative metric for all related network connections.
Service Level Agreement widget for NEXThink Portal is an extension that offers a special IT Service Management module that integrates traditional network and system monitoring solutions with NEXThink end-users' monitoring to deliver SLA reports and alerts with computation of outage impact for end-users. Not only you know what service an infrastructure issue is impacting but also you know in real-time which users' population is currently impacted.
NEXThink integration interfaces and APIs allow to import and export information and events to and from the NEXThink Engine and Portal databases in order to build solutions improving operation's workflows and reporting. NEXThink can integrate with information and events from solutions such as CMDB, Directory Services (LDAP), PC Life Cycle Management, Endpoint Security Protection, Systems and Network Events Monitoring, Service Desk Systems.
